About Cindryn

David and Linda Shoaf incorporated Cindryn Group, Ltd. in 1992 with a vision
to serve the agricultural and commodity industry. What began as a venture focused on agricultural brokerage quickly grew into a trusted name known for its integrity and dedication to meet the needs of customers and suppliers. Cindryn serviced clients across the Southeastern U.S. and internationally and incorporated Linda’s expertise in education and nutrition to promote healthier lifestyles.

The name is a tribute to their two adult daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) and Kathryn, thus Cindryn. Although not directly involved with company business, they are a vital part of its success through their love and support.

Today, Cindryn Group, Ltd. continues to honor its roots while embracing new opportunities to educate and inspire. With a commitment to excellence and a heart for service, Cindryn remains a testament to the hard work, vision, and values of its founders.

A Tribute to David

David B. Shoaf began his career in the agriculture and feed industry in 1961 and served in that industry for more than 65 years. David completed his bachelor’s degree in general agriculture and master’s degree in poultry science from the University of Tennessee. He often said, “Our blood runs orange,” After completing his degrees, David began his career with Wayne Feeds in Eastern Virginia.

From there he acquired a position in East St. Louis as an animal nutritionist. When opportunities for international trade materialized in New Orleans, he joined Gibbons, Inc and for several years traveled throughout the Caribbean, South and Central Americas, Asia, and Africa. His work took him to the heart of global agriculture, where he built lasting relationships and expanded his knowledge of the industry. In 1976, David accepted a position in Jackson, MS with the Mississippi Federated Coop (MFC) to service their statewide feed stores and initiate their international division.

In 1989, David began working independently as an agricultural broker and focused on the Southeastern US and international business. In January 1992, he and his wife Linda incorporated Cindryn Group, Ltd.  With David’s pending retirement, the company transitioned more toward education than agricultural brokerage. David, however, remained an immense support for all facets of the company until his retirement in the fall of 2022. Beyond his professional achievements, David was a man of deep faith and service. He was an active church member, serving multiple times as chair of the deacon body and offering wise counsel on financial matters. For more than 40 years, he was a dedicated member of Gideon’s International, distributing Bibles and sharing his faith with everyone he met. Whether in person or over the phone, David never missed an opportunity to share his love for the Lord.

David’s passing left a profound void, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and community. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband and father, a trusted colleague, and a faithful servant of God.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
